Karen Peterson

Expansion with a drummer, bassist and pianist is an option. This gives more "speed" to the performance. It is possible to respond faster to requested numbers and especially if you like a dance, this is indispensable. In addition, the sound is more swinging and it is a more lively viewing game. Karen then has her hands free for a saxophone solo or swinging guitar playing. It is important for your guests that the appearance of a band is sparkling and vibrant. An energy and atmosphere that automatically spills over to the audience!

Biography:
Karen recorded her first solo LP in 1983. All lyrics and music on this were written by Rob van Dijk, assisted by his trio.
Since Karen won the Tros-Conamus prize in 1984, she has started to focus on light music as a full-time professional. The repertoire varies from original jazz songs and atmospheric modern ballads to contemporary funk/soul pieces, including their own repertoire.
A series of radio and television appearances followed, including KRO's van Twaalf tot Twee with the orchestra of Piet Zonneveld, programs at the Tros with the orchestra of Peter Bochem and the combo of Cor Bakker, NCRV's Twaalfuurtje with the Gouden Regen Ensemble, Lunchtime Magazine and a television performance accompanied by none other than Louis van Dijk.
In 1988 she worked with Hans Vermeulen and Diana Marchall on a successful CD production on which she sings a duet with Hans. Several theater tours followed. Karen also frequently participates in jingle recordings and commercials. Her latest CD is a testament to her versatility.
Since working with her own band and as a piano entertainer, Karen has performed frequently for major corporations. She has already performed successful concerts at various jazz festivals and her performance was certainly not inferior to the big names she was among. Until recently, she performed fortnightly for Holland Casino. At the moment she mainly sings during company events and the more chic parties.
She also gives music and singing lessons and is the founder, conductor and singing coach of several different choirs.
